DIRECTOR OF MATERIALS RISK MANAGEMENT

JOB SUMMARY :

Director of Materials Risk Management is responsible for developing and managing policies, standards, and compliance processes related to materials while ensuring successful materials launches. This role oversees risk assessment, regulatory adherence, and the seamless introduction of new materials into the supply chain. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to minimize risk, optimize material readiness, and support business objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Establish and maintain material management standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, quality benchmarks, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the creation and implementation of processes that integrate standards into procurement, production, and inventory operations.
• Conduct audits to ensure consistent adherence to internal and external material standards.
• Ensure all materials comply with local, national, and international regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
• Stay informed of regulatory changes and proactively update policies and practices as needed.
• Lead the development of training programs to promote understanding and adherence to compliance requirements across the organization.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks related to material sourcing, quality, and sustainability.
• Implement risk assessment tools and frameworks to monitor the material supply chain and vendor reliability.
• Develop contingency plans to address disruptions, ensuring continuity of supply and operational resilience.
• Oversee the introduction of new materials into the supply chain, ensuring timely and cost-effective deployment.
• Define and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for material launches.
• Ensure proper testing, validation, and certification of new materials before integration into production.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and sustainability standards.
• Evaluate supplier risk profiles and implement monitoring systems to track performance.
• Partner with suppliers to support innovation and reduce risks in material launching.
• Build and lead a team specializing in standards, compliance, and material launching.
• Set clear performance goals and provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage technology to enhance material tracking, compliance reporting, and risk assessment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in material management and launching processes.
• Implement tools and software to support end-to-end material lifecycle management.
• All other duties as assigned.
