MANAGER OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
JOB SUMMARY :
The Manager of Inventory Management is responsible for overseeing the inventory lifecycle within the supply chain to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize costs, and meet production and customer demand. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and process optimization to maintain accurate inventory records, prevent shortages, and improve inventory turnover rates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to ensure the right balance between supply and demand.
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and forecasts to determine optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and implement measures to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- Oversee inventory tracking systems to ensure data accuracy and real-time visibility.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to verify physical inventory against system records.
- Develop and enforce policies to minimize inventory shrinkage, damage, and mismanagement.
- Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow and timely replenishment.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to forecast demand and align inventory plans with business goals.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage lead times, delivery schedules, and stock availability.
- Leverage inventory management software and ERP systems to streamline processes and enhance reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance inventory management capabilities.
- Build and lead an inventory management team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Set clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team success.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in inventory handling and storage.
- Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions and inventory challenges.
