Position Information: Location: Orange, CT; Boston, MA; Binghamton, NY; or Rochester, NY Pay Range: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $128,800 - $185,100. Schedule: Office Job Description: Senior Manager - Solution Design and Engineering Teams Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager with over 12 years of experience to lead our Solution Design and Engineering Teams. This position is crucial for ensuring the successful design, integration, implementation, and evolution of our digital platform, including websites, mobile apps, and omni-channel strategies. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the Energy, Utility, or Customer Services industries and a proven track record of delivering high-quality Digital solutions. Knowledge of integrating with SAP, CRM, and Billing systems is highly desirable. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus. Additionally, this role will be an integral part of the Customer Experience and Digital Center of Excellence (COE), collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Technology, Platforms, and Operations (TPO), to drive digital transformation and enhance customer experiences in the context of an Electric & Gas utility company. Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategy: Set the strategic direction for solution design, architecture, and software engineering, aligning it with the overall COE & Business goals. Collaborate with Product Owners, Customer Journey Managers, Project Managers, Tech Partners and Leadership to define technology roadmaps and prioritize initiatives. Drive innovation, scalability, efficiency, measurement, and accountability in solution development processes. People Management: Lead and mentor solution architects, software engineers and technical leads. Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring effective team collaboration and growth. Oversee talent acquisition, performance evaluations, and career development. Project Delivery: Ensure timely and successful delivery of projects across multiple squads. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA, cloud/dev Ops) to meet project milestones. Monitor project progress, budget & forecasting, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Technical Excellence: Provide technical guidance and support to solutions and engineering teams. Lead Solution design & Artchitrcure strategy and committee, drive SDLC process, explore innovation and automation to enhance time to market. Promote best practices in software architecture, coding standards, and quality assurance. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate roadmap and project status, risks, and achievements to senior leadership. Collaborate closely with product and project managers, functional leads, IT Backoffice manager, and business stakeholders. Advocate for solution design and software engineering excellence within the organization. Working closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization Confidence in challenging convention with strong abilities to influence cross-group teams and build executive relationships. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 12 years of experience in solution design software engineering leadership roles. Proven track record of managing software engineering resources. Strong understanding of Digital products, Energy & Utilities or Customer Services industries, and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership skills. Strong attention to detail and technicalities. Excellent organizational and technical abilities. Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills. Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and project management tools. Experience in fast paced environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire all levels of an internal or external organization. Strong analytical skills to evaluate ideas, assess risks, and prioritize opportunities. Strong expertise in designing and implementing digital solutions, including websites, mobile apps, and omni-channel strategies. Familiarity with SAP integration and experience with CRM and Billing systems are highly advantageous. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
