Purpose
The Director of the Project Management Office is responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading a multi-disciplined team to ensure Networks business teams efficiently and effectively manage support for Avangrid Networks capital portfolio. This is achieved through strong collaboration and alignment with corporate departments involved in the Capital Expenditures portfolio development, management, and reporting (e.g., Procurement, Legal, Insurance, Risk, Process & Technology, Investment Planning, Finance, Regulatory) and by providing strategy and direction for Project Management Office. The Project Management Office consists of the four focused support teams: Strategy & Governance, Procurement & Contracts Support, SAP Purchasing Support, and Document Control Support.

Responsibilities
- Portfolio Strategy & Governance. Oversee AVANGRID’s capital portfolio and support the execution of the long term capital investment strategy across all operating companies by: providing strategic input for capital portfolio prioritization, orchestrating the ISO certified governance process for the Projects’ capital portfolio; supporting project teams through governance processes; collaborating with corporate departments involved in the capital portfolio development, management, and reporting (e.g., Investment Planning, Regulatory, System Planning, Accounting, Control); providing analysis and reporting; improving project management competencies across business units, departments, and operating companies through the development and distribution of communications and training; attending executive management meetings to provide and present reports.
- Procurement, Material Expediting & Contracts. Ensure Networks business teams efficiently proceed through corporate processes related to the procurement of materials and services through customer-focused support teams that provide centralized procurement coordination, contract management, material expediting, and framework management.
- PMO SAP Purchasing Support. Provide centralized SAP support, SRM support and project support to project teams (units) for Electric, Gas, and Customer-funded business areas across all operating companies.
- Document Control. Responsible for: the processes and procedures that govern document control; the design, maintenance, enhancement, and administration of the enterprise document control system of record (e.g., ProjectWise); compliance with NERC, CIP, and all Avangrid security standards and requirements, including access control for authorized internal and external users; and partnership with global counterparts to ensure alignment of processes, systems, and procedures.
- Staffing. Recruit, develop, and lead a multi-disciplined team to ensure Networks business teams efficiently and effectively manage support for Avangrid Networks capital portfolio.
- Alignment. Collaborate and align with corporate departments involved in the Capital Expenditures portfolio development, management, and reporting (e.g., Procurement, Legal, Insurance, Risk, Process & Technology, Investment Management, Finance, Regulatory) and the Networks Business Teams subject matter experts (SME’s) and by providing strategy and direction for Project Management Office.
- Energizing leadership. Promote a culture of collaboration, efficiency, innovation, and quality across business areas. Promote continual growth and development to advance multi-dimensional business objectives.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. PMP Certification preferred.
- 10 years practical experience, at least 7 of which are in portfolio management and accounting/finance.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead a multi-disciplined team responsible for providing the tools, reporting, and training needed to manage the Avangrid Capital Expenditure Portfolio.
- Strong knowledge of PMBOK, as well as industry standards including regulatory accounting, FERC, NERC, CIP, and any other applicable regulation.
- Expert knowledge in portfolio management policies and procedures and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Track record of working with senior management and strong collaboration with other departments and project managers to provide practical, efficient solutions to improve project and portfolio management.
- Proven ability to successfully manage and influence in highly matrixed environment.
- Strong communication skills to deliver concise, informative communications at all levels.
- Excellent oral and written skills, including the ability to oversee and/or prepare sufficient documentation for a variety of stakeholders and executive level presentations and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability using data and analytics to diagnose trends and link to business performance outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of automated portfolio management and scheduling tools.
