Job Summary
The Lead Analyst - Accounts Payable assists in the coordination of activities in the Avangrid General Administration Department for the Avangrid General Administration Management Team. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with Avangrid policies and procedures within the Iberdrola Group. This role is essential to ensuring the accurateness, efficiency, and effectiveness of Avangrid General Administration activities meet or exceed the Corporate Standard.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Provides transactional support for activity related to Accounts Payable which may include payment processing, maintaining vendor master data, researching and resolving invoice discrepancies or issues, processing vendor invoices and supporting the Accounts Payable staff.
- Prepares analysis and ad-hoc data requests as needed in addition to Internal and External Audit support with ample opportunity for review by Management previous to any internal or external deadlines
- Remains current concerning new developments in the area of SAP system processes and controls.
- Performs General Administration SOX Controls.
- Follows accounting policies, proposes technical recommendations and provides assistance to management and others.
- Reviews and is knowledgeable of General Administration functional procedures related to administration processes.
- Assists with Administration projects related to continuous improvement and other ad-hoc assignments as required.
- As a member of the Avangrid General Administration Team, this position supports Avangrid Administration Management as required, driving delivery of Administration objectives.
- Ensures adherence to policies, criteria and procedures established by Purchasing, Tax, Finance and Administration Departments, identifying discrepancies and proactively working to improve alignment with the model beyond purely transactional duties, to comply with the need for US Business Control and Management approval
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline including but not limited to Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration and at least 8 years of experience. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in understanding accounting principles, control procedures, especially in areas related with accounts payable.
- Experience in payment concepts, SAP ERP systems and MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Analytical competence and technical skills
- Able to interact effectively with all levels of staff
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to exercise critical thinking & listening skills
- Ability to provide feedback and resolution to problems and issues
