Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager & Business Analyst Lead (Digital Projects) is responsible for managing the overall implementation of Digital projects and serving as the lead representative of the Business Analyst team. The role manages various programs and projects providing relationship management and technical solution to meet the requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. As the lead representative of the Business Analyst team, the primary purpose of this role is to manage, support, and develop Business Analysts to optimize performance and integrate best practices across the Digital Project program.

As the lead representative of the Business Analyst team, the primary purpose of this role is to manage, support, and develop Business Analysts to optimize performance and integrate best practices across the Digital Project program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership on various programs and projects. Management includes the development of scope, creation of project team, management of project team (Matrix style) across business and IT areas (Architecture, Infrastructure, Governance, Security, Networking), Solution design creation, Solution Sign off, project design execution, Operational handover, and closeout.
- Interfaces with Global counterparts to review solution design and facilitate best practice process considerations in solution design
- Leads cross-functional project teams. Holds regular program/project status meetings.
- Is the lead team member concerning accomplishing day-to-day goals and provides direction and leads decision making. Holds project team members accountable for results.
- Provides linkage to management for decision-making outside of day-to-day program/project team activities.
- Manages Vendor relationships, system integrators, contractors, and contingent workers on a project-by-project basis. Project team size for any single project can vary between 5-30 resources.
- Demonstrate an ability to blend traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach to provide the appropriate level of planning.
- Determine project management delivery style based on methodologies available, the project requirements, and the Vendor requirements. Required to adapt to new styles based on Vendor where applicable, train/coach vendor on AVANGRID process or manage working in an AGILE way where applicable, using the methodology artifacts to conduct the project (vision canvas, roadmap, PBF, MVP, product backlog, user stories, sprint backlog, and product increment).
- Execute the Scrum Master role when the Agile methodology is used in the project, being responsible for ensuring that the Scrum methodology is understood and used effectively. Leading the development team, removing any impediments to project progress, facilitating events, and coaching the team members. Assists the Product Owner with managing the backlog and communicating the project vision.
- Participates in the preparation of plans and budgets for programs and projects. Manages progress against plans and takes corrective action to offset variances. Reports to management on progress status.
- Responsible for meeting corporate objectives for capital investment. Manages projects to approved scope, schedule, and budget. Budget owner for own project portfolio, required to deliver to target and report status to the Digital Director monthly.
- Provides relationship management for business areas.
- Responsible for the Applications Lifecycle Management, including the definition, adoption, and evolution of AGILE methodology and DEVOPS Tools.
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, and onboarding activities to staff Business Analyst team according to organizational needs.
- Conduct regular results review sessions with individual Business Analysts to monitor productivity and identify opportunities for employee improvement. Create opportunity action plans, and regularly monitor progress.
- Collaborate with Digital Team to identify best practices (available tools and processes). Determine appropriate implementation plans to ensure consistent adoption across all Digital Team channels.
- Maintain an ongoing understanding of current and planned activities across Digital Channels to support planning and resource allocation needs.
- Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required in IT, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 7 years of relevant experience required
- Skills/Abilities:
- Microsoft Suite advanced user
- Trained in Agile Methodology
- Knowledge of IT design and architecture
- Management skills including staff development and budget
- Experience/Training:
- 3-5 years of IT project management experience
- 3-5 years of Business Analyst/project support experience
- Strong service delivery experience, preferably within IT
- Experience in leading projects and/or teams
- Prior management supervisory, experience
- Knowledge of IT business and financial aspects
- Master's degree in IT, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Certification for Project/Program management
