Job Description
- Position operates a diverse fleet of vehicles, trailers, and motorized equipment.
- The Vehicle Maintenance Technician is responsible to maintain this equipment to a safe and compliant standard and maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
- Strong diagnostic ability
- Working on heavy vehicles and equipment – Freightliner with a digger/aerials, CDL/Class A/B license. Medium Duty C4500 Ram. Air Brake vehicles.
- Any ASE certification is a Plus
- Drive line diagnostic. Transmission, differentials, suspension, brakes, engine repairs
- Effectively communicate, Microsoft Edge/Email
- Do they currently have a commercial DL’s, smog license, ASE certified (even if it has expired, willing to review).
- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections on Company vehicles and equipment
- Perform repairs to chassis and ancillary equipment
- Diagnose and repair of complete drive-train
- Diagnose and repair of AC and DC electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair of hydraulic systems
- Maintain paper and digital automotive equipment service records
- May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company
- Must be proficient with computer, including but not limited to email, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Must be proficient in locating online information and materials.
- Must possess good to excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain a valid unrestricted California Commercial Driver's License, including Air Brake.
- If required at the assigned job site, must demonstrate proficiency in the operation of a vehicle equipped with standard (manual shift) transmission. License must be kept current as a condition of employment.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience. Class A or B CDL.
- Must possess an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Automotive or Master Medium/Heavy Truck certification.
- Must maintain a clean working environment and work with safety as a top priority.
- Must possess the ability to perceive difference in colors. Some form of ASE certification(s) or equivalent experience(is a Plus)
- Computer literacy (utilizing excel spreadsheets, outlook, and shop maintenance software.
- Certification Requirements-ASE Certification(s) preferred
