About the Role
The Technical Fellow of Research & Innovation β Capital Devices is a technical leadership role in the R&D organization focused on developing solutions-based concepts for complex problems that translate into clinical value for our customers and economic value for the business. This role serves as a technical consultant to the research and innovation team in long-range company planning concerning new technology platforms.
This position will be technical lead for research/development/customization of complex catheter tracking and/or navigation systems as well as enteral feeding pumps and accessories. The role will be an in-person position at the Alpharetta office headquarters.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Leverage your specialized skills and scientific knowledge to drive early-stage technology scoping and concept generation for new medical devices, particularly embedded devices with both custom and off-the-shelf hardware and software components.
- Plan, lead, and execute technical projects, ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of unmet user needs into system solutions and product requirements, all while considering business constraints.
- Develop innovative product concepts aimed at improving or setting new standards of care in Digestive Health.
- Lead the preparation, execution, & documentation of technical design reviews.
- Contribute to the IP and Patent Estate of Avanos through preparation of Patent Disclosures and assisting Intellectual Property (IP) function to secure filing and granting of patents.
- Drive thought leadership through publications in journals, conference presentations, & patents.
