What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part time office assistant position at Avant Electric Inc?

Avant Electric, Inc. - a small and friendly electrical company- is hiring is hiring a part-time office worker. You will work up to 15 hours per week with the potential of working more hours as time goes by. These flexible hours can be filled during the week and/ or on the weekend. This is an ideal position for a university student or adult with a school-age child, or anyone who has a moderate understanding of how to use a computer ( computer literacy), a friendly outlook, and a good command of the English language. A candidate should know how to use Adobe, Excel, and Quickbooks. You must have reliable transportation as there will be times when you are asked to run errands ( examples include: picking up pre-paid supplies at Home Depot or dropping off material at a job site ). The business will provide a laptop and cell phone for business purposes only. An ideal candidate would live within 20 miles of San Jose.

Qualifications:

-entry -level -a moderate amount of computer literacy is needed ( understanding of how to use Adobe to convert files, save files, use Microsoft Word, etc.)

-an understanding of how to appropriately respond to potential customers via email and phone call- using context appropriate language

-good command of the English language

-good articulation

-responsive and thorough

-good interpersonal skills ( understanding the needs and wants of others; active listening)

-someone who is responsible

-has a reliable car

 

 

Benefits:

-bi-weekly payroll

-pay of $22-26 per hour DOE; gas reimbursement for miles driven; 90-day review with raise

-expected hours < 15 per week; TBD

 

Responsibilities:

-answer phone calls, make phone calls, answer potential client emails in a timely manner

-respond to calls picked up by the answering service

-respond to Google, Yelp, and website leads in a timely manner

-check email regularly and alert owner to anything that is urgent

-coordinate with various vendors or institutions that need paperwork ( COI)

-light cleaning of office space, warehouse, and office restroom; take out trash when needed

-drive to pick up supplies/ dropping off supplies/ complete driving errands as needed

-communicate with bookkeepers as needed via text, phone call, or email

-use ZOHO, a web-based inventory software app, to digitally keep track of inventory in the warehouse

-invoicing some vendors

-schedule owner and other employee workweek on spreadsheet calendar

-work mostly independently
