Pressure Vessel Fitter

 AVANTech, LLC solves some of the most challenging problems in the water industry – from being first responders to the Fukushima Nuclear Plant meltdown to implementing patented first-of-its-kind technology. Our projects include industrial water recycling at government sites.  AVANTech’s goal is to improve the environment around us and support our clients with innovative sustainable water treatment solutions. We are seeking an experienced Pressure Vessel Fitter MIG/Flux Core Welder.

Who You Are:

The Pressure Vessel Fitter candidate must also be experienced in MIG Welding, Flux-Core Welding & Pipe Fitting. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in welding. Candidate's work must be able to pass x-ray.

A Day In The Life:

·        Fitting code stamp vessels, skids.

·        Interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols used to fabricate piping assemblies or skids.

·        Fit up nozzles, prepare manways on tanks.

·        Prep pipe fittings and pipe ends for full penetration welds on pipe assemblies.

·        Attach legs to vessels correctly.

·        Correctly read a tape measure and level; operator power and hand tools; operate different types of machinery.

·        Must be able to identify which type of filler wire to use for a given type of base metal.

·        All welds must pass ASME pressure vessel and piping codes.

·        The Vessel Fitter applicant must be able to follow all safety practices and PPE according to OSHA and AVANTech's procedures.

·        The ability to ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards is critical.

·        Applicants must be able to work in confined spaces.

What Will Set You Up for Success:

·       Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience.

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

·       Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing business needs.

Requirements:

·       Applicants must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, engineering sketches, and blueprints, and be able to follow design specifications given both verbally and in written form.

·       Requires lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, reading, walking, bending, and twisting.

·       Candidate must be able to pass drug test, pre-employment physical, and possible background investigation. A high level of safe working practices is vital.
