What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at Avanti's Restaurant?
Licensing / Registration /Certification
- Required: Food Handler Certificate
- Preferred: Food Service Sanitation
Certification, Valid Illinois Driver’s License with no major moving
violations in the past three years.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
All items should be taken to read that the individual already has these skills, or has the ability to rapidly acquire them.
1. Having the ability to read recipes and tickets; executing preparation instructions.
2. Understanding and practice working under food service sanitation regulations.
3. Acting in a courteous and respectful manner while working in close proximity with other persons in a high-paced environment.
4. Having the ability to operate standard dish machine and wash pots and pans by hand.
5. High sense of urgency
6. Neat personal appearance and clean working habits.
Physical
Body Movements: Standing for long periods of time, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting up to 50# and carrying it a distance of 50 feet or more, bending and flexing legs, arms, wrists and fingers, grasping.
Working Conditions
Work will be done mostly in a high volume restaurant kitchen with the accompanying extremes
of temperature, crowded conditions, noise, rapidly moving foot traffic, and
potentially dangerous equipment. There
will be consistent and repetitious activity during the entire work shift.
