About the Role:
In this position, you will work closely with the Avantor Lab and Production Services team to serve our customers by performing customized lab work and research protocols that help scientists save time.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to oversee inventory management tasks involving consumables, chemicals, samples, ensuring precise control.
- Manage requests, enabling inventory movement on and off-site, and fulfill customer metric reporting needs.
- Supervise slow-moving and inactive inventory, conduct cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and provide related reports.
- Handle purchasing functions encompassing back-order reporting, order entry, expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, quote management, document control, record maintenance, and resolution of open invoices and pricing issues.
- Coordinate shipping activities, including handling customer material, managing routine issues, operating warehouse equipment, inputting shipping details into computer systems, and conducting equipment inspections.
- Manage hazardous materials, prepares shipping documentation, and meets packaging requirements.
- Analyze generated data to provide sample metric updates and enhance inventory accuracy.
- Document and investigate quality events related to manufacturing operations to conduct thorough root-cause analysis, determine corrective action plans, assess product impact, and facilitate remediation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related science discipline preferred.
- 2 years of experience in customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling within a laboratory.
- Microsoft Teams experience preferred. Previous experience working in a GMP facility is desired.
- Able to self-manage and self-motivate, forward-thinking with excellent customer service skills.
