Job: Crew Leader – Ceiling Mud / Tape
Job description: Lead between 2-10 personnel in the first and second coat of mud/tape plus prime on ceiling cassettes before they are to be set on the walls and secured. Lead will determine the most urgent work to be done in conjunction with Production Supervisors and other Crew Leads. Lead must pay close attention to dry times, and ensure they hit their production goals without hindering crews before and after them in the production line. Lead can expect to be trained in the operation of cranes to safely move ceiling cassettes over to the ceiling set location on the production line.
Responsibilities:
- Coach, coordinate, and lead crew in work process and activities in a production environment.
- Assign work to employees, based on dry times, material or worker abilities of specific tasks.
- Coordinate work activities with other production construction crew members and crew leads.
- Evaluate projects to determine compliance with technical specifications.
- Inspect equipment or tools to be used in construction, monitor, and ensure proper safety protocols are in place and being followed.
- Provide plant manager with regular updates regarding crew member attendance, performance, and crew production construction KPI’s.
- Assist in crew member recruitment and interview process by engaging with candidates on the production floor.
- Support new crew member onboarding, on the job training, by ensuring all production construction methods are demonstrated successfully.
- Other duties as assigned.
