Position Description :
Avarint is seeking an applied mathematician, physicist, or engineer (preferably electrical, mechanical, or aerospace) in the domains of radars, missiles, command and control (C2), and hypersonics.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Identify, test, and evaluate various models and algorithms
- Implement statistical, machine learning, or other mathematical methodologies to solve satisfy customers' specific needs
- Develop and implement models and algorithms to be released as new product features
- Work alongside a team of engineers to develop and deploy production-level code
Requirements
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in : Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace subfields preferred); other quantitative disciplines considered with commensurate academic / industry experienceProficiency in MATLAB, R, Mathematica / Maple, Python, C , or other mathematical programming and modeling toolsStrong understanding of statistical methodsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimizationStrong understanding of software development methodologies and version control systemsProven ability to reason logically and provide rational solutions with a focus on improving efficiency and qualityEffective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly to diverse stakeholdersExperience with cross-functional teamsMeets eligibility requirements for a government security clearancePreferred Qualifications :
