CONTRACT TO PERMANENT HIRE - GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Avaxa is a full-service marketing and creative agency with clients primarily in the financial industry and CPG, plus we are the primary creative support for a local non-profit senior doggie rescue. (website is down, in final stages of a major redesign, yay!)
Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling and a strong understanding of design principles. As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing graphics that effectively communicate our brand message across various platforms. Your expertise in both digital and print design will be essential in delivering high-quality work that meets the needs of our clients.

Responsibilities
- Develop and design engaging graphics for digital platforms, including websites, social media, and email campaigns
- Create compelling layouts for print advertising and sales materials such as brochures, flyers, ads, event assets, PPT decks, infographics, and posters
- Design unique layouts for swag, source vendors, and work with vendors to deliver merch
- Adhere to brand and editorial guidelines for all clients
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, CorelDraw, Figma, and other design tools to produce high-quality visuals
- Incorporate photography and digital art into designs to enhance visual appeal
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in graphic design to continually improve skills and output
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines without compromising quality
- Ad hoc projects as requested
Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is required
- Strong visual design skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics
- Experience in digital art creation and layout design is required
- Familiarity with PowerPoint, CorelDraw, and Figma is a plus
- Knowledge of HTML is beneficial for web-related projects
- Knowledge of Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Hubspot is a plus
- Ability to produce high-quality photography and video for use in various projects
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and creative challenges
- Social channel competency a major plus (Tiktok, IG, FB, YT, WhatNot, Etsy, etc.)
- STRONG understanding of maintaining confidentiality and conducting oneself in a professional manner at all times
This is a "contract to perm" position with a salary increase once permanent.
