Job Summary
The Quality Control Representative (QC Rep) will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of roofing installations across various job sites. You will work closely with our project teams to monitor work in progress, conduct inspections, and address any quality issues, reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager.
Key Responsibilities :
Pre-Installation Inspections : Review project plans, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines to ensure proper materials and installation methods are specified.
On-Site Quality Inspections : Conduct inspections at different stages of the roofing process, ensuring that all work is completed according to project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Compliance Check s : Verify that all roofing installations adhere to local building codes, manufacturer requirements, and OSHA safety regulations.
Document Findings : Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, including identifying any defects or issues, and generating detailed reports for corrective action.
Problem Resolution : Work proactively to identify potential issues and collaborate with contractors and project managers to implement solutions.
Final Inspections : Perform final walkthroughs and inspections to ensure roofing systems meet quality standards before project sign-off and client handover.
Continuous Improvement : Assist in identifying areas for improvement in installation processes and work practices to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
Material Inspection : Inspect roofing materials before installation to ensure they are of acceptable quality and conform to project specifications.
Job Requirements
Education : High School Diploma or GED required. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Experience : At least 1-2 years of experience in the roofing industry or quality control, construction management, or a similar field.
Technical Knowledge : Familiarity with roofing materials, systems, and installation methods. Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and roofing inspection techniques is highly preferred.
Attention to Detail : Strong ability to identify defects or issues that could affect the quality and longevity of roofing installations.
Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly document findings and communicate with project manager and QC manager.
Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to think critically and take initiative when identifying and resolving quality or safety issues.
Physical Requirements : Ability to perform physical inspections on rooftops and in various weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Travel : Must be willing to travel to job sites as required.
