Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Carmel, IN. This role provides direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them with daily living activities and promoting their independence and well-being. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
Provide companionship and emotional support while fostering independence.
Encourage and assist with community integration, including attending social activities, medical appointments, and recreational events.
Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each person’s needs.
Support individuals in developing life skills, such as communication, job readiness, and social interaction.
Ensure a safe and respectful environment while promoting self-advocacy and decision-making.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required :
Must be 18 years or older.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility as needed.
Preferred :
Prior experience in direct care, care giving, or healthcare support.
CNA, HHA, CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
