Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Funeral Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding families through the funeral planning process, providing bereavement support, and ensuring that all services are conducted with the utmost respect and professionalism. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including transportation, preparation of remains, and event logistics.
- Meet with families to discuss their needs and preferences for funeral services, providing guidance and support throughout the planning process.
- Manage the necessary paperwork and legal documentation associated with funerals, including death certificates and permits.
- Provide bereavement support to families before, during, and after the service, offering resources as needed.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure that all facilities are maintained in a respectful manner and that equipment is in working order.
- Assist in event planning for memorial services, including coordinating with vendors and managing timelines.
- Engage in sales activities related to funeral products and services while maintaining ethical standards.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed when preparing for services or moving equipment.
- Drives funeral vehicles as needed
- Assists at the chapel, church services, and cemetery
- Delivers flowers, caskets, urns, photos, and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families
- Sets up and removes chairs, properly caring for and storing these items.
- Assists with general office duties, including answering phones and preparing reports as necessary
- Assists with the maintenance of vehicles, the facility, and property
- Receives caskets and other funeral home supplies as well as stock inventory
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bilingual
- Proven experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong skills in event planning to effectively coordinate services that meet family needs.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing compassionate care to grieving families.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with preparing for funerals and managing equipment.
- Knowledge of bereavement support practices is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Valid Driver's License, good driving record and automobile insurance.
Abilities:
- Bilingual – Spanish/English.
- Available to work weekends and evenings.
- Follow multiple pending requests through to completion.
- Organize and coordinate projects.
- Concentrate and complete moderately complex forms.
- Work independently with initiative and little supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
