About this opportunity :
This position will be responsible for leading a team of commodity specialists executing strategic sourcing initiatives, developing strategies to optimize the company’s vendor spend and supporting cost management efforts across the enterprise. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to drive transformation and shape departmental policy and core operations as well as to build out a team and lead rigorous direct spend program and drive improved workflows with new technologies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs the activities of the direct commodity staff, schedule and prioritize work activities. Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders and agrees on business goals and key requirements.
- Manages complex sourcing initiatives, collaborates through cross-functional teams to demonstrate value of strategic procurement, which includes contract management, service agreements, supplier qualifications and off-shore opportunities.
- Identifies and pursues opportunities to optimize vendor spend and strategies to yield aggressive savings and increase productivity and drive new efficiencies.
- Supports and collaborates on competitive RFIs/RFPs and successful vendor negotiations, focused on total cost, and ensures all business terms are clearly outlined in vendor contracts.
- Responsible for conducting spend analysis, analyzing vendor markets and identifying sourcing value levers. Ensures integrity of savings tracking and reporting efforts.
- Works with finance and other cross functional teams to ensure negotiated savings are realized.
- Works to strengthen key vendor relationships. conducts reviews, measures performance through scorecards, and ensures new value is created year-over year.
- Develops implementation and transition plans and supports change management process in accordance with the strategic sourcing roadmap.
- Develops, communicates, and actively manages departmental goals and strategies with internal stakeholders and vendors, including support of the company's enterprise cost management initiatives.
- Exhibits flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments, as needed, and provides analysis and support for key vendor related initiatives
- Fosters career development. Ensures that team understands vendor markets and develops innovative vendor solutions.
Job Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Bio Medical/ Pharma/ Chemical engineering or MBA preferred.
- Overall experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and vendor management practices, including financial management, performance management, relationship management, contract management, and risk management in cGMP manufacturing environment with familiarity in quality change management systems.
- 10 year of related experience within the Pharma industry or similar regulated industry
- Ability to perform pricing analysis and evaluations of total cost of ownership
- Attention to detail with strong internal and external customer focus.
- Self-Motivated and capable of working independently for extended periods of time
- Experience with and exposure in advanced sourcing strategies, vendor management processes.
- Ability to leverage, vendor management, eProcurement and eSourcing tools (e.g., SRM, SAP, Ariba, spend analysis tools).
