The Position: We’re looking for a FAFSA Completion Specialist!
Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide general support to the Admissions and Financial Aid Department and prospective students by facilitating and simplifying the financial aid application process to ensure accurate ISIRSs and an efficient enrollment life cycle.
Responsibilities: The FAFSA Completion Specialist must exhibit certain characteristics and perform specific duties during their daily or weekly routine. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Uphold the Nurtur Core Values and Behaviors and Aveda Success Factors.
- Provide one-on-one support to prospective students with assistance in completing and submitting their FAFSA application.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on financial aid programs, scholarship opportunities, and other financial assistance resources available to students.
- Receives ISIR information and collaborates with Financial Aid Counselors and students to resolve verification issues promptly.
- Stay informed about changes in financial aid regulations, policies, and industry trends to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
- Maintain a meticulous and up-to-date Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure accurate records that are consistent with all policies and training and efficient communication with potential students.
- Collaborate with the Admissions and Financial Aid Team to ensure annual enrollment goals are achieved.
- Actively participate and lead daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings and huddles.
- Stay current on institute policies and processes, industry growth and change, and program opportunities.
- Handle escalated challenges from prospective students professionally and efficiently, ensuring positive resolution.
- Communicates effectively and consistently with the Department Lead and Director of Business Operations.
- Performs duties as assigned and/or required to meet business needs.
- Abides by all other Nurtur policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Member Handbook and Code of Conduct.
Minimum Requirements: The FAFSA Completion Specialist must exhibit certain educational and experiential requirements, including:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior work experience in a financial, tax, or lending position interpreting personal financials and tax documents preferred.
- Exhibit self-direction, initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate extreme professionalism and confidentiality in manner, dress, and conduct.
Travel Requirements: The FAFSA Completion Specialist must be able to travel locally to events and for out-of-state training as necessary.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: The FAFSA Completion Specialist will be expected to work in an office environment in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Sit at a desk with a computer for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms.
- Walk, sit, stand, balance, stoop, speak, and hear.

- Tolerate a minimal to moderate noise level typical of a corporate office setting.
