Inventory and Events Specialist

Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to work closely with the Student Salon Spa Manager to improve the Institute’s inventory levels, budgeting and student and guest experiences by providing exceptional customer service

Responsibilities: The team member in this position must exhibit certain characteristics and perform specific duties during their daily or weekly routine. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Uphold the Nurtur Core Values and Behaviors and Aveda Success Factors

• Ensure all levels of inventory are maintained at a level of always supporting all functions of the campus

• Ensure we do not run out of products, disposables, and any other items that we need to maintain operations at the campus

• Maintain budgets by partnering with the operations manager and work to create a streamlined understanding of what is coming in, what is going out and how much we are using

• Demonstrate a strong understanding that the salon/spa industry is “high touch” and requires strong interpersonal skills and attention to the needs of others

• Focus continually on hospitality, guest care, and service excellence by welcoming guests and students and treating them with care and respect • Identify and work collaboratively to resolve student and guest challenges and/or requests in an efficient and timely manner

• Serve as a role model to students by presenting and reinforcing a professional appearance and behavior at all times

• Help maintain a cohesive, cooperative work environment through team building and motivation • Create a sense of urgency in task completion and achieving goals by motivating self and others to accomplish objectives effectively

• Ensure there is always sufficient product inventory by assisting in regular physical inventory counts as required, assisting with the receipt, transfer, and shipment of product in an accurate and timely manner, and by communicating inventory opportunities, challenges, and incidents to leadership immediately

• Ensure that all waste materials are recycled in the proper fashion as dictated by local laws and Company guidelines

• Maintain all safety, security, and technological standards and identify and communicate potential problems, issues, and challenges to leadership immediately

• Participate in and assist with Aveda and Nurtur corporate events including career fairs, marketing events, Earth Month, Beauty for a Cure, etc. • Assist in the coordination and management of all functions and activities surrounding the student experience Revised 4/26/2024

• Perform duties as assigned and/or required to meet business needs

• Abide by all other Nurtur policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Member Handbook and Code of Conduct

Minimum Requirements: The team member in this position must exhibit certain educational and experiential requirements, including: • High school diploma or GED equivalent, Bachelor’s degree a plus:

• Minimum of 2 years’ continuous retail, customer service, restaurant, or hospitality experience required; experience in the cosmetology industry highly preferred

• Exhibit self-direction, initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills • Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in manner, dress, and conduct

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Ability to set and achieve goals, implement decisions, and work under strict deadlines

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed

• Strong commitment to customer service excellence and to the Company’s mission and vision

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The team member in this position will be expected to work in an office environment in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
