JOB PURPOSE:
The Clinic Manager provides strategic leadership and supervises and coordinates activities of multiple clinic locations and the staff at those clinics. Prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for each clinic. Keeps the providers informed of both progress and potential problems. Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Monitors billing, collections, insurance payments, and accounts payable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and firing of staff for the clinic.
- Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provides for professional growth and development of patient care staff through identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education (formal and continuing) efforts and evaluation of same.
- Responsible for completion of regular performance evaluations for each staff member; conducts evaluations for new staff prior to completion of probationary period.
- Counsels employees, develops staff and, as appropriate, utilizes the disciplinary process.
- Responsible for safety and comfort of patients, and the health and safety of staff.
- Ensures all aspects of patient care is provided in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
- Collaborates with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- Responsible for resolving patient complaints.
- Ability to coordinate and direct the patient accounting function in order to consistently produce accurate bills which are paid in a timely manner.
- Monitors activities continually with collection agencies, insurance companies, patients and physicians; recommends corrective action as appropriate.
- Participates in the development, justification, and maintenance of a fiscal plan (budget) for each clinic. Monitors patient revenues, expenses and operating expenses (salaries and capital expense items) and provides appropriate reports to the Corporate Accounting.
- Maintains a current awareness of third-party reimbursement regulations and contractual arrangements with HMOs and PPOs.
- Monitors utilization of equipment and supplies; orders supplies as needed.
- Ensures all required records for the clinic are effectively maintained.
- Demonstrates good organizational skills.
- Plans and conducts staff meetings.
- Works with the medical staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
- Participates in performance improvement, including utilization and promotion of familiarization with performance improvement standards and programs.
- Responsible for assigning the role of patient advocate respecting guidelines found in the Patient Bill of Rights to designated clinic staff.
- Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs; attends meetings, workshops to enrich personal knowledge, growth and management skills.
- Serves as a resource to others.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
- Fosters good public relations for each clinic.

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Valid drivers license.
- BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of four (4) years management/supervisory experience in a clinic setting.
Ability to work with providers in a collaborative manner.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, third party payers.
