What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard Part-time 5p-11p (Daily Pay options available) position at Aventura at Oakwood Village?
Secures building to maintain a safe environment for residents, associates, and visitors. Locks / unlocks all outside doors at established times. Makes periodic tours about building / grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to see that they are properly secured. Performs periodic checks of weather conditions, and during periods of winter storms / alerts, performs snow removal and applies de-icer at doorways and entrances. Secures and / or unlocks offices and facilities and turns on and off lighting at designated times. Responds to inquiries for advice or assistance from facility personnel, residents, and visitors. Delivers packages, newspapers, etc., to specific departments / residents as required. Inspects parking lots to ensure the safety and security of parked vehicles reports parking violations and abandoned vehicles as per departmental policy.
Responds in a timely fashion to emergency situations. Calls fire department in the event of fire or certain emergencies and notifies police in case of theft, breaking and entering or other matters requiring notification of police according to policy. Completes all necessary reports and completes investigations as necessary for a resident and / or associate thefts. Responds to and makes reports regarding emergency situations such as accidents and injuries, crimes in progress and safety hazards. Provides assistance, summons proper authorities and polices areas to maintain order, safety and to protect property.
Performs routine monthly nursing home checks and building safety checks before monthly deadline , and other duties as required or assigned.
Part-time - 24 hours per week; 5pm - 11pm ; days vary; every other weekend
