The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled therapy services to patients in a subacute rehabilitation environment. The OT will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs aimed at enhancing patients’ ability to perform daily living activities and improve overall functional independence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Assessment : Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine patients’ needs, goals, and functional limitations.
- Treatment Planning : Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and therapeutic goals.
- Therapeutic Interventions : Utilize various therapeutic techniques to promote rehabilitation and recovery, focusing on improving fine motor skills, coordination, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Patient Education : Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, home exercises, and strategies for maintaining independence.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment interventions, and outcomes in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
- Collaboration : Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and physicians, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Continuing Education : Stay updated on best practices, evidence-based techniques, and advancements in occupational therapy.
