- Prefer someone with experience in the Assisted Living community
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of two years experience with geriatric residents or two years experience in the human services area
- Must have demonstrated social and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of organization
- Most possess a valid driver's license and have access to a private vehicle for business use
- Must be able to drive community bus
- Must carry and maintain current first aide certificate
- Position requires the ability to stand, reach, bend/stoop/crouch, push/pull/lift/carry up to 50lbs, twisting/ turning and repetitive motion
- Must have good vision, hearing and speech
- Activities are experienced both within the community and in the community as a whole
- Assists in planning and implementing creative and exciting programming to meet the individual needs and interests of the residents within the Community with large and small group programs; provides one-to-one programming for residents who cannot participate in group settings
- Facilitates scheduled activities such as exercises, games musical/cultural programs, and lectures
- Drive residents in community vehicle to activities
- Plan and schedule movies, parties, games, projects, crafts, resources and field trips for residents at least one month in advance
- Plan and purchase supplies needed for events or scheduled activities
- Provides mentoring in the planning and designing of the activities calendar each month including distribution the calendar to each resident, family members, and friends, and posting throughout the residence
- Plan and execute special events monthly while coordinating with other department managers
- Provides guidance on the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the residence, which may include driving the residence van/bus and how to monitor and account for residents when leaving or returning to the community
- Schedule, facilitate and keep recorded minutes of Resident Council monthly meetings
- Develops steps to identify community resources and contacts to enhance the quality of life for residents
- Maintains friendly and concerned relationship with residents while upholding the Company's policies and procedures
- Participates in the review of individual resident service plans and regularly documents resident program progress
- Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents' families, visitors and team members
- Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the resident, team member, residence, company information and records
- Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits
- Complies with the attendance policy
- Complies with the cell phone and social media policies
- Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene and appropriate attire per dress code
- Participates in training, in services and attends meetings when required
- Assists with special projects as assigned and performs other related duties
