Job Summary :

The QA Analyst II is responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying software defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. In this mid-level position, the QA Analyst II is more active in improving testing processes, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring software quality across multiple projects. The QA Analyst II works closely with development teams to identify and resolve critical issues in delivering high-quality software solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Design and execute detailed test plans and test cases to identify software defects.
Report and document software defects with detailed replication steps and expected outcomes.
Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Perform regression testing to ensure resolved issues do not recur in subsequent software versions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of test results and metrics related to software quality.
Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot issues during testing, providing root cause analysis.
Lead efforts in enhancing test coverage and improving testing processes.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA team members.
Ensure software meets performance and functional requirements by executing manual and automated test cases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align testing efforts with business objectives.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent work experience.

2-4 years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or a related field.

Advanced understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.

Proficiency in using defect tracking tools and test management software.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks is a plus.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Good communication skills to document and explain issues clearly to the development team.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, guiding junior team members.

Competencies :

In-depth knowledge of software testing principles and methodologies.

Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members collaboratively.

Critical thinking and attention to detail in identifying software defects and improving testing processes.

Effective time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

Defect Identification : Successfully identify and document 95% or more of software defects during testing phases.

Test Plan Coverage : Ensure that 100% of assigned test cases are executed and documented within project timelines.

Regression Testing : Achieve a 98% success rate in ensuring resolved defects do not reappear in subsequent versions.

Collaboration : Provide timely and constructive feedback to development teams, contributing to resolving at least 90% of documented issues within the expected timeframe.

Work Environment :

This role is primarily office-based, with a typical workweek of 40 hours.

Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Frequent collaboration with developers, project managers, and other QA team members is necessary.

Physical Demands :

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The employee must occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.

Frequent repetitive motions, such as typing, are required throughout the day.

Occasional standing, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
