The person who is qualified for the position will have some experience with both medical records maintenance and central supply. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to understand and comply with all Federal and State regulations regarding medical record and HIPPA. The person in this position will responsible for the following tasks:
- Review and organize medical record information to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Protect medical record information from loss, defacing or destruction before the retention period ends.
- Be able to identify incomplete, late or inaccurate information.
- Assist in keeping the paper files kept at the nurses stations manageable by thinning the charts on a quarterly basis.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in facilitation communication between residents, families, physicians and the IDT team.
- Monitor physician compliance with regard to the signing of documents and notifying them in a timely manner
- Notify the Administrator for any requests for information for medical record request from families, legal offices, insurance companies, etc.
- Order all supplies needed to order the appropriate products from the appropriate vendors.
- Oversee rental equipment for residents and ensure their return in a timely manner as not of incur unnecessary cost to the facility.
- Maintain supplies in a neat, organized fashion.
- Inventory all supplies that are needed for resident care in all areas,
- Receive all supply orders, check for accuracy, and put away stock using a FIFO inventory system.
- Collect and code all invoice for all departments and turn into Administrator for approval before submitting to corporate for all payments.
- Must have 2 years of Medical Records experience
