About the opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Engineer with a strong Data background for a local role based in Pleasanton. This position will be primarily focused on leveraging Power BI for data visualization and reporting, while also utilizing expertise in Databricks, Python, and Spark for data manipulation and transformation. The ideal candidate will be adept at connecting to various data sources, building robust data models within Power BI, and creating insightful dashboards to support business needs. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our data-driven initiatives using a modern data stack.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data models within Power BI, optimized for reporting.
• Extract, transform, and load data using Databricks, Python, and Spark.
• Build interactive and insightful dashboards and reports in Power BI.
• Implement DAX calculations and optimize Power BI report performance.
• Manage Power BI service workspaces, datasets, and security.
• Analyze data to identify trends and translate business needs into reports.
• Collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders on data and reporting solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query (M).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Hands-on experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Experience with Databricks and/or Spark for data processing.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Experience connecting to and working with various data sources (e.g., SQL databases, data lakes, APIs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate business requirements.
