Company Overview:
Avept, Inc. is a nationwide warehouse distributor of Automotive Aftermarket parts and accessories. We are an essential business in the transportation sector, providing critical Automotive Replacement parts to vehicle service and repair facilities across the US. This position is posted for our business offices located in Rancho Cordova, California.

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking an energetic, dedicated and results-oriented Assistant Buyer. In this role the candidate will build and execute product orders with a wide array of domestic and international suppliers, to help achieve company sales objectives and maintain key inventory metrics.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales and inventory data to forecast product requirements.
  • Generate, enter, track and reconcile daily purchase orders.
  • Maintain inventory stock levels and order intervals to reduce lost sales.
  • Verify and update internal product pricing data.
  • Monitor and respond to variation in supplier order lead times and fill rates.
  • Maintain up to date supplier records and account information.
  • Communicate with suppliers and carriers to resolve shipment delivery/damage issues.
  • Foster positive supplier relationships with customer-service and sales staff.
  • Work with accounting to ensure accuracy of invoices and payment amounts.
  • Assist with market analysis and new product selection activities.
  • Support various administrative buying tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skill with MS Office Excel at or above Intermediate level is required.
  • 4 year degree in a related field, or equivalent experience/training is required.
  • 1 to 3 years work experience in a similar role (e.g. Buyer, Planner, Purchasing) is preferred.
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work at a standard office desk/workstation; familiarity with MS Office software.
  • Must be able to occasionally carry small to medium packages in a warehouse environment.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
