Straight Evening shift from 2 : 00 pm -10 : 30pm, Monday - Friday. No weekend rotation.

A Brief Overview
Performs standardized histotechnology procedures under supervision by the Histology Section leader and Section Pathologist.
What you will do
- May perform routine histology techniques including, but not limited to : tissue embedding, cutting, staining, coverslipping, labeling, and case distribution.
- May perform special histology and / or cytology specimen processing procedures including but limited to muscle and nerve biopsy preparation, fine needle aspiration, immunohistochemical staining, histochemical stains, and bone marrow processing.
- Accessions specimens into computer system.
- Assists pathologist or pathology assistant in performing gross examination of tissue specimens. Assist Pathologist and / or Clinician in obtaining bone marrow specimens.
- May perform gross on select specimens under the supervision of the Pathologist.
- May prepare frozen sections, and other immediate attention specimens for intraoperative diagnosis.
- May perform miscellaneous tasks including but not limited to : routine maintenance, specimen filing, sending reference lab specimens and preparing reagents or solutions.
- Assists with student teaching and training.
- Assists with quality assurance and continuous quality improvement projects.
