Job Description
This Medical Laboratory Scientist position plays a critical role in the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties. This includes utilizing scientific principles, technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, and corrective action.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a strong foundation in medical laboratory science, including a bachelor's transcript showing a Medical Laboratory Scientist degree or a Medical Technologist degree. Additionally, certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) within 1 year or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 1 year is required. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is also essential.
