Job Description:
- Evaluate residents' physical and mental health, including vital signs, cognitive function, and overall well-being.
- Dispense and monitor medications according to physician orders.
- Maintain open communication with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Report significant changes in resident health status to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Assess pain levels and administer pain medication as prescribed.
- Provide emotional support and address psychosocial needs of residents.
- Maintain accurate and detailed resident records, including progress notes and medication administration logs.
- Recognize subtle changes in resident behavior or health status due to chronic conditions.
- Collaborate effectively with Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Comply with all aspects of resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards.
Requirements:
- Certification: Medication Aide - SD Board of Nursing
- 1-3 years experience working in a clinical or long-term care environment, preferred.
