A Brief Overview
Responsible for accurate entry of payroll earnings and deductions and to possess complete understanding of all payroll practices, policies, contracts and procedures ensuring all employees are compensated according to FLSA. Responsible for the timely and courteous follow-up to all customer inquiries. Provides support to the current time and attendance system as needed.
What you will do
- Calculates overtime, differentials, special adjustments, and rates for payment.
- Calculates tax deductions, benefits, and other deductions for unusual or changed payroll data.
- Assists employees to understand payroll calculations and deductions; investigates problems and makes appropriate corrections.
- Prepares payroll data reports and check requests for various payroll withholdings as needed.
- Enters various payroll deductions/changes including, but not limited to: W-4's, direct deposits, PTO cash out/donations, and validate for completeness.
- Supports time and attendance processes as directed, including password resets for employees
- Processes wage garnishments, levies, and child support according to appropriate regulations.
- Provides support in the process of workers' compensation or other pay practices associated with leave.
- Provides verification of income to authorized persons with appropriate signed release from employee.
- Verifies new employees with the appropriate agencies and corrects errors as necessary.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Technical Certificate Certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years payroll experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
