Supports the development of the employees and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and provides education with regulatory assurance with the Joint Commission standards, state, federal, local and other organizational policies.
- Coordinates and facilitates onsite and virtual learning activities as needed.
- Collaborates and coordinates with other healthcare professionals and organizations to build relationships and advance education and training initiatives.
- Assists leadership in establishing/maintaining methods to evaluate and document staff education and training.
- Mentors and supervises staff to acquire new skills, develop their careers, and effectively incorporate evidence into practice.
- Supervision of staff includes assigning teaching duties under approved curriculum, directing and overseeing the performance of such teaching duties, evaluating the performance of employees selected to perform teaching duties, exercising authority to make promotion and demotion decisions concerning employees assigned teaching duties, and issuing commendations or discipline in accordance with Avera policy.
- Creates an environment that stimulates continuous self-learning, reflective practice, feeling of ownership, and demonstration of responsibility and accountability.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Technical certificate in continuing education planning within 1 year
- Registered nurse licensure in the State of MN upon hire
- Basic life support instructor certification from the American Red Cross upon hire
- Crisis prevention intervention certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute within 1 year
- Certified nurse educator (CNE) certification from the National League for Nursing (NLN) within 1 year
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's degree in nursing with an educational focus
- 4-6 years experience as a registered nurse

Salary : $90,480 - $135,200
