A Sleep Lab Technologist provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders at Avera St Mary's Hospital. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient information to identify specific needs and determine final testing parameters.
Responsibilities:
- Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information for testing procedures.
- Documents routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events.
- Explains pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to patients.
- Performs sleep studies, including CPAP and BiPAP titration, and applies electrodes and sensors according to published standards.
- Follows procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data and scores sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
Requirements:
- Registered Polysomnographer Technologist or Respiratory Therapist licensure within 1-1/2 years or upon hire.
- Prior experience in respiratory care or completion of a polysomnographic course is preferred.
