Position Highlights
Primary Function:
Scheduling for the NCH Cardiologists, Surgeons, and APPs as well as Technical Services
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist as assigned to support the discharge outtake process from clinic appointments. Supply education and patient summary as requested. Assure follow-up appointments scheduled prior to departure.
Assist with patient needs within the clinical waiting room, maintain coffee supplies, assist with patient transportation contact and request assistance as necessary to assure patient satisfaction.
Assist with incoming patients and referring office telephone calls, electronic referral processing, clinical workload request, voicemails to cover all areas within the clinic as timing allows.
Data entry of single to multiple appointments utilizing multiple screens and modules to coordinate with acute and ambulatory modules.
Schedule appointments, tests and procedures per provider and clinic guidelines.
Data entry of appointments and call schedules for providers.
EMR creation (Patient accounts) as needed to schedule appointments.
Obtain patient demographics and enter information into the EMR.
Provide coverage for the other scheduling representatives, as needed.
Contact patients for rescheduling.
Instruct patients prior to procedures according to approved guidelines.
Make referrals to outside physicians per request. Send all pertinent records.
Obtain pertinent records prior to patient appointment.
Alert pre-auth staff of all add-on procedures and transplant patient appointments.
Abide by and strongly enforce all compliance requirements and policies and perform their responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with NCH/AHH values.
Special projects as assigned by management.
Prompt and regular attendance is required.
Work Schedule:
Forty hours per week, Monday through Friday. Hours are 8 am until 5 pm.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma required. Associate degree from an accredited university/college and/or hospital, medical office, clinic, or hospital business operation experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
None required.
