A Brief Overview
Responsible for oversight and success of the overseeing division related to quality performance. This position works collaboratively with a variety of leaders and departments to design a culture of continuous quality improvement, manage resources and identify opportunities for program improvement among new and existing practices.
What you will do
- Coordinates overall Quality Program for assigned division or region.
- Actively develops and carries out the activities outlined in a Quality Improvement Work plan. Including but not limited to development of system performance improvement, that result in the system meeting or exceeding outlined thresholds.
- Proactively monitors and reports on the progress for all activities.
- Maintains a high level of interaction with leadership and stakeholders in compiling, reporting, analyzing and disseminating quality metrics to identify quality opportunities, create strategies for improvement, and review processes and activities for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Promotes philosophy of Continuous Quality Improvement to identify problems, analyze variations, and improve complex processes and systems to enhance the quality of patient care.
- Provides oversight to activities related to accreditation, including assessment of ongoing readiness, review of standards and involvement with interdepartmental colleagues, as well as develops and delivers educational training and coaching to facilitate the understanding of accreditation standards requirements.
- Provides oversight to activities related to accreditation survey preparedness including acting as a liaison between the health plan and accrediting body, preparation of documents and materials, and facilitation of onsite or virtual document review.
- Support all efforts, including expanding knowledge and implementing change that positions the health plan for electronic data abstraction including meeting federal reporting requirements along with abstraction for internal data use.
- Serves as a resource to and developer of performance improvement programs in Avera Health facilities.
- Serves as support to the Quality of Care Committee, including case review and presentation of materials, in collaboration with leadership.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Qualifications
The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's health care profession, healthcare administration or related field.
- 4-6 years experience in managed care, preferably in the quality department type setting.
