A Brief Overview

Develops and manages activities & programs involved in the operation and maintenance of, including but not limited to, buildings & grounds, equipment & vehicles, utilities, supplies, preventative maintenance, manpower, and housekeeping.

What you will do

• Assists in the preparation of capital and operating budgets and ensures adherence while managing department’s resources in a stewardly manner.
• Demonstrates skill to do basic plumbing, repairs, motors and has working knowledge of heating, air conditioning, boiler, electrical circuits, and hydraulic principles. Maintains buildings and grounds in good repair.
• Provides leadership, guidance and supervisor to staff and contractors. Prioritizes and organizes work assignments including contracted services when necessary. Coordinates changes in emergency coverage.
• Maintains a preventative maintenance program. Routinely checks for work orders and completes repairs to assure 24 hour operations.
• Ensures all equipment and workrooms are clean, orderly, and in good repair.
• Coordinates and assists with snow removal efforts. Responsible for the overall condition of the parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and building entrances. May include other maintenance responsibilities as necessary.
• Keeps the Director of Plant & Facilities informed of problems, conditions, needs, and information of all personnel, equipment and buildings.
• Supports strict adherence to the safety, disaster, and hazardous chemicals and waste material programs.
• Assures that standards are met for Joint Commission, State Department of Health, Insurance, OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
• Assists with space, building, and remodeling projects. Helps evaluate, recommend, and purchase equipment for department if necessary.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Drivers License - Licensing Board
• 1-3 years in general maintenance or maintenance specialty (i.e., electrician, plumbing, heating & cooling, etc.)

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• High School or GED Equivalent
