A Brief Overview
Responsible for effectively fulfilling the goals and objectives of the department while managing the department's resources effectively and efficiently. Specific responsibilities include all aspects of planning, scheduling, and dealing with department issues. The Manager also must plan for staffing and fiscal budgeting for the department.
What you will do
- Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates programs to purchase materials, supplies and equipment for hospital, clinic, and other on-site departments. Establishes plans and coordinates day to day activities to carry out the responsibilities of the department.
- Consults and assists Department Directors in determining the quality, effectiveness, and durability of products purchased in accordance with established policies. Maintains & updates department inventory templates & processes.
- Maintain the perpetual inventory system, check for accuracy, and effective turnover using the Meditech Materials Management Module.
- Ensures execution of Avera Health Supply Chain strategies at the site, including contract implementations, policies and procedures as well as standardization and product conversions.
- Maintains the requisition templates and assists requisitioners with any needs with sending item or purchase requisitions.
- Leads and ensures execution of any action as it relates to all product recalls for supplies and equipment at the site.
- Maintains necessary equipment and supplies needed by the Department to provide the services offered.
- Manages shipping and receiving, maintaining reports with vendors, and a resource for capital purchases.
- Maintains and checks updates on contracts in GHX Supply Chain Advisor.
- Collaborates and cooperates with other departments to integrate and coordinate services through leadership and active participation on teams, committees, and meetings. Serves at Supply Chain liaison at the site as it relates to communication with their respective leadership teams.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's in related area
- 4-6 years of related experience and/or training
