CDL-A Dedicated Local Truck Driver - DPE

Job DescriptionDedicated local drivers enjoy the many privileges that come with having consistent customers. Unlike some driver positions, this one gives you a better idea of the number of miles and hours each week holds, which means you'll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And because you know your customers and their typical freight load, you'll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments.

• Competitive pay :
• Average $1,400 per week / $72,800 per year
• Starting pay is .56 cpm
• Average of 2,500 miles per week
• Stop and loading / unloading pay
• Average 5 - 7 stops per week @ $25 per stop
• 25 load / unload pay
• Monday - Saturday; with varying start / end times
• Most routes will be local deliveries and will be home daily; there will be a few routes that require a HOS break in the tractor
• Saturdays are mandatory
• Deliver portable storage units from the Averitt service center in Meridian to our customer's several storage facilities (19 )
• Coverage area of MS, AL, GA, TN and LA
• Receive forklift training, as loading of the portable storage units may be necessary

• Must live within a 75-mile radius
• Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
• Must have a Class A CDL
• Must be 21 years of age
• No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
• No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 5 years
• No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation within the past 5 years
• No serious violations within previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with a fatality)
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 yearsEssential functions :
• Lift and move side kits -lift requirements : 46 lbs
• Secure load with chains and hardware - lift requirements : 80 lbs
• Climb onto and off of the flatbed trailer / load
• Count freight
• Complete fuel tickets
• Complete delivery receipt
• Hook / Unhook trailer - force requirement : 90 lbs
• Perform pre-trip inspections
• Drive
• Extensive travel - ability to sit upright for extended periods of time.
• Regular predictable attendance
