Job Description : Material Handler
The Material Handler position is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of materials within the work center. This role plays a critical part in supporting manufacturing and supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity in the production process.
Responsibilities :
Coordinate and expedite the movement of work and materials between departments to ensure timely completion of production orders.
Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet changing demands and prioritize urgent orders.
Collaborate with production planners, supervisors, and other stakeholders to schedule and plan production activities.
Track and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed, minimizing delays.
Communicate production status, delays, and issues to relevant stakeholders, including management and sales teams.
Identify bottlenecks or potential production delays and propose solutions to improve efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections of production areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Maintain accurate production records, including work orders, inventory logs, and production reports.
Continuously evaluate and improve processes to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
Requirements :
High school diploma or GED.
Experience in planning and / or scheduling activities.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding and application of continuous improvement concepts.
Ability to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive workplace.
Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and production planning software.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (if required).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Flexibility to work overtime and adjust hours as needed to meet production demands.
