Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting visual inspections, performing dimensional measurements, and preparing parts for shipment while ensuring that quality standards are met. Along with standard measuring tools, you will utilize CAD software and portable CMM equipment (like FARO or Romer) to ensure precise measurements and inspection results. Strong critical thinking skills are a must, particularly when it comes to interpreting mathematical data and measurement results.
As a key member of our team, you will help ensure the accuracy of measurements and the timely processing of orders while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality. Your expertise in inspection and ability to work efficiently will play a crucial role in our ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual inspections of parts to confirm quality and adherence to specifications.
- Use CAD software to interpret and verify dimensional measurements.
- Operate portable CMM equipment (e.g., FARO or Romer) to conduct precise dimensional inspections.
- Perform inspections using basic measuring tools and ensure measurements are accurate and consistent.
- Complete daily shipping reports and ensure timely processing of orders.
- Box parts for shipment accurately and safely, adhering to packaging procedures.
- Follow finish level and material specifications as outlined in work orders and instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that inspection equipment is properly maintained.
- Apply critical thinking skills to interpret measurement results and solve complex measurement challenges.
- Ensure quality-conscious practices and maintain confidentiality at all times.
You might be a good fit if you have/are:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or training a plus).
- 1 year of related experience in a similar role using CMM equipment, with familiarity in inspection and measuring tools.
- Proficiency in CAD software for part and measurement analysis.
- Experience with portable CMM equipment (FARO, Romer, etc.).
- Ability to interpret complex measurements and perform critical thinking to solve problems.
- Good computer skills and strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and handle moderate physical activity (lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds frequently).
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-conscious mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
