Job Description
Overview:
Aversan seeks a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer 5 to contribute to the design and engineering of HVAC and plumbing systems for various facilities, primarily focusing on HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers. This position will involve a range of responsibilities, from design and construction to energy efficiency studies and sustainable design.
Responsibilities:

Design and construction activities for HVAC and plumbing systems, including traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build methods.

Design HVAC and plumbing systems for Data Centers, administrative, and support spaces.

Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces.
-
Perform energy audits and efficiency studies, code reviews, and sustainable design/LEED applications.

Develop engineering skills through challenging projects.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC design
-
Proficiency in CFD modeling
-
Data Center design experience
-
Professional Engineering (PE) License

AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED certifications for industrial buildings
Preferred:

Experience with NFPA standards

Knowledge of computer-generated HVAC loads and equipment sizing

Experience with HVAC system energy modeling for energy codes

Familiarity with Green Building initiatives (LEED, Green Globes)

Experience with technical submittal and bid review processes

Experience with large-scale water and air-cooled chiller plant design

Knowledge of ICC Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards

Data Center airflow CFD modeling experience for internal and external evaluations

Experience with Cadence Reality Data Center Design (formerly 6Sigma Room)
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
