Responsibilities
- Assurance Oversight: Ensure compliance with plans, processes and standards for DO-178C DAL A and related industry guidance.
- Process Oversight and Management: Oversees that development and verification processes are being followed by the software developers. Reviews software life cycle artifacts to ensure they comply with the planning documents and standards.
- Audits and Reviews: Support internal and external compliance audits.
- Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentoring on project plans, processes and standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Detect and suggest process improvements in development assurance and reliability.
- Description: This work is analogous to certification authority artifact compliance reviews and audits.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years VxWorks or other RTOS embedded C/C software development. At least 15 years focused on safety-critical systems and DO-178C compliance.
- C Language: Must be well versed in the C programming language.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of DO-178C objectives, particularly for DAL A, and familiarity with related guidance.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to plans, methods and standards.
