Position Summary
The Commercial Lines Account Manager plays a key role in supporting producers and clients by managing service needs and handling policy changes. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach. The ideal candidate will ensure a high level of client satisfaction while adhering to agency quality and service standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to Producers, including analyzing client needs, coverage forms, and quotations.
- Submit applications to eligible carriers and follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
- Process and verify binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related documents.
- Determine appropriate billing methods and issue invoices accordingly.
- Prepare insurance summaries, schedules, and proposals as needed.
- Manage policy renewals in coordination with Producers, ensuring timely processing.
- Review audits for accuracy and facilitate corrections as needed.
- Process client requests via phone, email, and mail, ensuring prompt responses and resolutions.
- Identify potential cancellations and work proactively to retain accounts.
- Follow up on cancellations, ensuring accurate processing and maintaining agency financial equity.
- Identify client exposures and recommend appropriate coverage options in collaboration with Producers.
- Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with agency standards.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, colleagues, carriers, and vendors.
- Stay informed on industry trends, new products, legislation, and technology to enhance performance.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to the agency’s overall success.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in commercial insurance account management is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, coverages, and industry regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in insurance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Insurance experience: minimum of 4 years actively working in insurance. Commercial lines experience preferred.
- Property, Casualty Agents License minimum 4 years.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
- Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
- Knowledge of insurance products and usage.
- Knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets.
- Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures.
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
- Strong communication, organization, time management, and technical skills.
- Self-motivated with initiative and thoughtfulness.
