Role Overview

AVESI, Inc. has a career opportunity for a Geologist (Geology degree required) fulltime position in the St. Louis, MO metropolitan area. Are you a Geologist with 0-3 years of experience? This is a professional position. The pay range will be $60K to $70K based on experience level.

Key Responsibilities

· Preference given to candidates with OSHA HAZWOPER training

· The position is approximately over 95% field work

· Will work under the supervision of a Senior Geologist/Environmental Engineer

· Field activities include; logging of soil borings and rock cores, collecting soil, groundwater, surface-water and sediment samples as well as documenting field activities

· Will support remediation contractors and collect data from soil and groundwater remediation systems

· Office activities include analysis and interpretation of analytical results and assistance with the preparation of site assessment reports under the supervision of a Senior Geologist/Environmental Engineer

· Will do field mapping and map preparation and maintain spreadsheets/databases, prepare charts, conduct routine scientific calculations and run computer programs

· Will follow company safety standards, participate in safety training and prepare and implement site safety plans

Required Skills / Qualifications

· BS in Geology, Geosciences or related degree preferred

· 0 to 3 years environmental geology field experience preferred but not required

· 40-hour HAZWOPER OSHA Training desired but not required

· Experience collecting soil/water/air samples and interpreting results a plus

· Must be a self-starter with good written and verbal communication skills

· Attention to detail and strong time management capabilities required

· Will be required to lift equipment and carry laboratory samples

· Ability and willingness to travel to project sites in Missouri and surrounding states preferred

· Must pass drug test, annual physicals/trainings, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy

Physical Requirements

· Must be physically fit for field work in outdoor environments

· Able to lift 40 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
