Role Summary

A highly motivated and experienced R&D Manager is required to lead a multi-disciplinary team on agile projects under the SAFe methodology, delivering Cloud Services as part of AVEVA's Data Platform.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring solutions conform to agreed quality, design, technical, and completeness guidelines, using appropriate tooling and technology. They will also deliver complex digital projects, break down barriers, and facilitate effective communication among team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Knowledge of large scale Azure SQL implementation(s) with experience in design and development of related API for cloud (Stored procedures...)
• Use various programming languages and development tools to build, test, implement, and support web/cloud software applications
• Lead, motivate, and facilitate a development team using your people, project management, and technical skills
• Closely coordinate with Product Owners, Managers, and team members to plan and deliver projects against a roadmap
• Implement best-practice tools and processes
• Contribute technically and enable team members to engage in and steer technical direction and decision making
• Proficiently perform the role of a Scrum Master as needed, ensuring Scrum practices are followed, along with generating Scrum metrics and reporting
• Drive collaborative, dynamic planning process – manage shifts in priorities and prioritise work against team capacity and capability

Ideal Experience

• Proven experience leading technical teams, including people management, developing Cloud-based solutions
• Motivated person with ability to self-manage, passionate about collaborating with others to drive results and motivate others to do the same
• Solid experience using range of agile project management methods and tools, balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
• Demonstrable Software Development and Design experience using modern programming languages and tools, including C#
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, able to convey information clearly and concisely with high attention to detail
• Maintains and develops relevant industry knowledge
• Working knowledge of SQL Server/Azure SQL and related tools (SQL Server Management Studio), API, REST, microservices, serverless architecture, and container-based solutions
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills, expert in identifying and analyzing situations or problems using pattern recognition or logical reasoning
