Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Massage Therapy Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching and training students in the principles, techniques, and ethics of massage therapy. The instructor should have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, and a passion for educating future massage therapists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and hands-on training sessions.
- Teach various massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, reflexology, and therapeutic methods.
- Provide instruction in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and kinesiology as it relates to massage therapy.
- Assess student progress through assignments, practical evaluations, and exams.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grading.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students regarding career development and professionalism.
- Ensure a safe and clean learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Promote ethical and professional standards in massage therapy practice.
Qualifications:
- Certification from an accredited massage therapy program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as required by local regulations.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a practicing massage therapist.
- Previous teaching or instructional experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and massage techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high educational standards and student success.
Preferred Skills & Additional Certifications:
- Experience with holistic or alternative healing techniques such as aromatherapy, cupping, or Reiki.
- Knowledge of sports massage or injury rehabilitation techniques.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Ability to develop instructional materials and assessment tools.
Work Environment:
- Classroom and hands-on lab settings.
- Requires standing for extended periods and demonstrating massage techniques.
- Compliance with all safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols is mandatory.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
