What are the responsibilities and job description for the Poultry Vaccination Technician I position at Aviagen North America?
Job Description Summary:
This role plays a critical part in overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds.
Job Description:
Work with day old chicks
Will be required to collect birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations
Must be able to work with live animals and the associated environment
Collect blood samples, band/tag or remove tags from birds
Must follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security polies and procedures
Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfects, etc.
Must perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained
Must be able to be around farm related smells or odors and loud/noisy environment
May work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications:
Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple task
Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
Bend and stoop throughout the shift
Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required.
