This position reports to the Clean Out Manager for the implementation of best management practices required for the cleaning, disinfection and setup of brooding, rearing and/or laying farms. Employees cannot own poultry or swine.
Job Description
Major responsibilities:
- SITE CLEANING: Implement best management practices per protocol; includes, but is not limited to, disassembling equipment, loading out and/or spreading litter, thoroughly washing (either by hand or with power washers) of equipment and inside and outside of barns and other structures on the farm, and preparation of the same for disinfection.
- DISINFECTION: Implement best management practices per protocol; includes, but is not limited to, use of pressure washer, foam applicator and/or fogger, to thoroughly apply disinfectant to the equipment and structures on the farm.
- EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Operate all cleanout related equipment in a safe, competent and effective manner; includes, but is not limited to, tractors, spreaders, skid steer loaders, litter hopper/conveyor, pressure washers and foggers.
- EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Perform daily inspection of and preventative maintenance on all cleanout related equipment; includes, but is not limited to, fuel and fluid levels, lubrication, filters, basic servicing and troubleshooting of repairs to pressure pumps, wands, and hoses.
- EQUIPMENT TRANSPORT: As required, transport cleanout related equipment between farms and/or to and from repair shops. Includes, but is not limited to, loading and unloading large equipment onto/off of dovetail trailer, trailering pressure washers, spreaders, hopper conveyor, and/or turkey harvester.
- HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: Demonstrate a working knowledge of MSDS specifications for chemicals used for the cleaning/disinfection process; includes, but is not limited to, the handling, dispensing and transporting of detergents, disinfectants, and petroleum products.
- MISCELLANEOUS: As required, assist with setting up equipment, spreading shavings, bird transport and other activities as requested by Supervisor.
- Comply with Company Bio-Security Rules and Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, Animal Welfare Policies and all other Procedures and Standards.
